Beth Castagnola Preschool DirectorThings I love most are being with my family and reading for pleasure. Working at Mary Star gives me the opportunity to nurture my own faith so that I can become confident in articulating, sharing and celebrating my faith with each of the children and staff. It also gives me the opportunity to nurture the qualities of good citizenship in the children, along with the responsibility to be able to help them achieve their knowledge about God. Year started at MSSP: 2008 Degrees/Credentials: AA Early Childhood Education Director of Preschool CA Credential
-
Judy Ortega Preschool TeacherI became interested in working with young children at a young age. When I realized they sparked my interest, I developed a genuine feeling in pursuing a career in child development. I am currently taking courses at Los Angeles Harbor College and working on getting my Associate Degree in Child Development. Year started at MSSE: 2013 Education: 24 Units in Early Child Education
-
Nina Agrusa Preschool TeacherI love being a member of the parish, Saint Anne's Society, and socializing with family and friends. To teach preschool at Mary Star of the Sea is a dream that I have reached because I love working with children. Kids must learn most in a friendly, warm and safe environment and we make every day fun while also using educational tools. We teach the value of God and our faith in the Catholic tradition, and also nurture each child to develop at his/her own pace to encourage personal growth. Year started at MSSE: 1995 Degrees/Credentials: AS Child Development, CTC Child Development Permit

Suzie Orlandini Kindergarten TeacherI knew from a very young age that I was called to be a teacher, in fact as a child I used to pester my siblings into playing school. There are many things I love about teaching but I think my favorite part is watching a students face light up when they finally get a new skill. I believe in hard work and hands on activities that engage my students in the learning process. I taught for many years in New York City but am happy to be living and teaching back where I grew up in Southern California. I received my degree from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana and as a result am a die hard Notre Dame fan!
