Field Trips extend the learning experience outside of the class room. All trips are of educational and/or cultural value and are directly related to the curriculum. All trips are approved by the principal and supervised by the teacher. Volunteer parents may be asked to chaperone the students as necessary.
Each year teachers may revise the selection, but a few favorites are visited each year:
· 4th grade visits San Gabriel Mission to enhance their study of the history of California.
· 7th and 8th grade attend a Shakespeare play at the Will Geer Theatricum. Students read the play in class and attend the play at this outdoor theater reminiscent of the Globe. Actors dressed as William Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth greet the students and answer their questions before the play begins.
· Kindergarten attends a play put on by a local elementary school. This excursion is towards the end of the year and their first off campus experience.
In Spring 2016, 7th and 8th grade students will again embark on a trip to Washington DC. This will be the fourth exciting trip to our nation's capitol, and the students are looking forward to this well-planned excursion.
