Mary Star of the Sea Preschool is the newest addition to our Mary Star Parish.  We take pride in offering a well-rounded program with age appropriate hands-on activities that provide many opportunities for learning and growth. We provide a safe, nurturing environment that encourages independence, confidence, and positive self-esteem in children.

Mission Statement

In the tradition of Catholic Education, Mary Star of the Sea Preschool promotes opportunities for each child to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, mentally and creatively. As a small community, together with parents, director, and staff, it is our goal to develop these values in each child.

Philosophy Statement

Mary Star of the Sea Preschool believes that each student is a child of God, endowed with unique gifts and talents. In cooperation with parents, the primary educators of their children, the director and the teachers of the children, the school and church form a faith community dedicated to teach, nurture, and integrate Catholic values into the child’s everyday lives.

Mary Star of the Sea Preschool is a Christ-centered environment that provides the opportunity for spiritual growth through the living traditions of the Church. Faith development is achieved with the practice of prayer.

As a director and staff, our school strives to create a warm and loving environment where children can learn about themselves, gain an understanding of others and develop their self-esteem. Each child is treated with acceptance, encouragement and respect for his or her individuality. Our hope is that each child will feel successful and develop the ability to grow in positive ways.

The Mary Star of the Sea Preschool offers varied activities in faith development, art, language, music, movement, science, math, outdoor play and cooking. Our teachers will provide lesson plans developed around themes or special topics of interest for particular age group. All of our activities are selected on the basis of providing sensory experiences, social experiences and mental stimulation.
